Last Friday I received my first shipment of Home Chef. I've been weighing the pros and cons of using a service like Home Chef, or Blue Apron for an entire year now. I've recently started cooking at home more often than normal and my trips to Wegmans began piling up, making a noticeable dent in my budget. I decided to check out Blue Apron again, and realized that their prices were comparable to my shopping budget. So I signed up!

However, after I signed up - I realized I wasn't impressed with their menu options. They have some good choices paired with things I wasn't interested in eating. With that said, I cancelled my subscription within minutes. Oops!

I checked out Home Chef next. I have some friends who use Home Chef and have been really impressed. Upon entering their website I immediately checked out their menu options. For some reason, I liked these choices better than Blue Apron's... I decided to go for it!

The packaging for Home Chef is very organized. The meals came in a freezer box, which kept them cold while they sat on my porch for a few hours. They have cute little containers for each perfectly measured receipe item. The directions come on nice card-stock that I can keep in my Home Chef binder they gave me.

The first meal I made was coconut-encrusted chicken with a pineapple slaw. I enjoyed making it because it was easy, and relatively quick. It tasted delicious and healthy which is important to me. The meals are actually pretty well proportioned (which is great because I wasn't left hungry, and I had leftovers).

Tonight I'm making mushroom-glazed steak and potatoes!

Much Love, Lia
