The Week in Review

The Miss International 2016 competition has officially come to a close. I am honored to say our new queen is Amanda Moreno, an incredibly inspirational woman who holds the hand of God in everything she does. Amanda's beauty shines from within and is emitted through her smile and every kind word she speaks. Amanda has founded the True Beauty Movement, an organization that encourages young women across the globe to embrace their own definitions of beauty. I wish her nothing short of success and happiness in everything she does, and am excited follow her journey along the way!

The last seven days have been an absolute whirlwind of emotions for me. Excitement, happiness, exhaustion, nerves, and celebration. I have made several awesome new friends from all over the world. The ladies I've met have changed my life forever!

For me, this week was much more than a competition. It was a celebration of my personal accomplishments, and more importantly an opportunity to share my personal story with Hospice. If you've been following my journey from the beginning, you know that my past is tarnished with bumps, bruises, and many challenges. Each of these instances have carved the marble statue that stands tall today. I've spent the last several months preparing for this competition which has allowed me to focus my energies toward my physical and emotional well-being.

After making a list of personal goals, I've left my not-so-great habits in the past and have trained harder and surround myself with positive people. This week has been a great celebration of my efforts. I am so incredibly proud of myself for getting back on track, and reorganizing my priorities and reestablishing my values.

I've had a chance to meet beautiful women from across the world. Women who carry kindness in their smile, and joy in their laughs. I am forever grateful for the friendships and connections I've made throughout the week. I pray that each of you are hugely successful in all of your endeavors and that you reach all of your dreams.

I simply cannot express my sincere gratitude for everyone involved in my journey, and I can ensure you - your kindness and support will not be forgotten.
