Organizing your fridge will help you satisfy your diet and nutrition goals. Having a specific spot for all of your food will help you grocery shop and keep everything fresh. Every adult should invest in a nice set of tupperware containers. You don't have to go crazy, but you should upgrade from the cheap zip-lock bags and purchase something like a Hefty Box Set (Walmart $22.00),
It's such an amazing feeling to have a clean, organized and packed fridge! On the contrary, it's super gross to have a dirty fridge - so don't be that guy.
Important items for your fridge:
1) Fruit Bowl - Cut up enough fruit for the week and mix it into a giant bowl. This way, every morning all you have to do is scoop some out and you're set to go!
2) Cut up fruits and veggies - celery sticks, carrots, and bell peppers should all go into a tupperware container so you have easy access throughout the week. I pair these with hummus for healthy snacking.
3) Cheese platter - buy a few blocks of cheese and cut them into slices for easy munching. Make sure you have crackers and salami on deck too!
4) Protein drinks - I'm a huge fan of Muscle Milk, if you don't already know that. Since we all have busy lives, it's important to ensure that you're consuming enough protein after your workout, a grab-and-go drink is the easiest solution.
5) Other drinks - In my fridge I keep water bottles, tiny gingerales for an upset stomach, Gatorade, and sparkling water. Don't keep sodas and other sugary drinks on hand, you don't need them!
6) Opt for different options - I don't keep ice cream in my freezer, however my sister probably has three or four gallons in hers right now. Late night cravings can be hard to beat, but stock low calorie options and some dark chocolate to satisfy your sweet tooth.
