Packing your suitcase for any trip can be a daunting experience. Packing for a pageant is even more difficult! However, if you follow these simple guidelines it can be the most exciting part of your arrival to Jacksonville!

To begin take a deep breathe and turn on some fun tunes!

Then get your handbook out! You certainly cannot even begin packing without having your handbook handy. Make lists! I suggest using an excel spreadsheet so you can organize neatly, but a notebook will do the trick if you insist.

Take it day by day! Lay out each outfit per activity, starting with Monday. Find a large floor in your home to organize everything around your dress or outfit. Lay earrings above and shoes below. Almost like a Polyvore photo (Click Here for Examples).

After you have each of your days laid out on the floor, take a photo of each day. Then turn to your excel spreadsheet or notebook. List every single item from jewelry to undergarments.

Pack per day. Use small plastic bins, or small ziplock bags and label them Monday, Tuesday, etc!

In the carry on!

Carry your sash in your carry-on bag. You'll also want to bring MINIMAL makeup with you, paired with moisturizer, eye cream and makeup remover. Depending where you're traveling from you will probably arrive at the airport with some form of makeup on your face. As soon as wheels go up, simply remove your makeup with a wipe, and apply eye cream and moisturizer. Before you land apply a simple coat of makeup so your face looks refreshed and ready for your arrival. I did this last time I went to Spain, and it made my face feel great. Sitting on the plane for a while may leave your face feeling full and greasy, removing makeup is the best thing you can do! Also in your carry-on you'll want to have a portable charger, headphones, and a book/magazine. It's important to remember your most expensive, irreplaceable jewelry/items as well.

Let's Review:

1) Get your handbook out

2) Lay out each outfit per activity/ per day

3) Take a photo of each complete outfit

4) List every item included

5) Label and Pack

6) Set the most important items aside for your Carry-on
