The MVP at the Gym

My sister's name is EB. She's always been the althetic sibling out of us four, whether it was soccer, basketball, or softball, or track, or flag football..or just throwing a football.....actually...even just watching football (LOL). She was always better than me. Besides possibly the position of sweeper on our soccer team, she could pretty much do anything. Known for being fair competition to her male counterpart, she works out and eats healthy everyday.
She's been gut-wrenchingly hard on me lately. I'm sure some of you can relate when I say no one in the entire world can cut you down like a fine piece of prosciutto as well as your sister can. Maybe its because she knows me best, maybe its because she wants me to be the best? Either way, she's been exceptionally difficult to deal with because looking at her is like looking at myself in the mirror (the worst).
After discussing my intentions to "get back on track" and share my story via blogging, she 'forced' me to get up and get my booty to the gym, for the first time since I've been with my trainer.
Alright, now we all know that LA Fitness on Elmwood is pretty much a social club for everyone who lives in downtown Buffalo. I walked in and was greeted by an overwhelming sense of anxiety and an even worse stench of testosterone (which I can't say everyone complains about). Thankfully my sister showed me my way around the machines so I didn't look like a lost kitten wandering between a pack of wolves.
This was the first time we've worked out together in a couple of months, so I was naturally intimidated by her tough coaching nature. However, after watching her, I became instantly proud that my baby sis was lifting like a pro! I was glad, and incredibly motivated, to see her doing so well.
I can't tell you enough how blessed I am to have a sister who knows when to show me some tough love, and when to hold my hand be supportive. Honestly, she's my best friend and I want her to be my MVP for this entire journey because she truly is my Most Valuable Person!
Much Love, Lia
