I feel like the title should read "how to make cardio suck less" because that is #thetruth. I am not going to say that though because I rarely ever speak so casually. Anyway, I've decided to write this post because tomorrow is Saturday, and I have a two-hour cardio session in front of me. Yes, I will be on the watt bike for two hours, if you'd like to join please reach out to me (LOL)!
1) Bring the flashcards!
Take advantage of your cardio session by multi-tasking. Bring your interview questions with you and study, study, study!
2) Hook up to the WiFi
I do this every time I sit my booty on the bike. I'm notorious for texting while biking, sometimes I'm scared my trainer is going to come over and take my phone away! But hey, my legs keep moving and the sweat keeps dripping so I'm getting the job done. Also, visit your favorite TV show's website and see if you can catch a full-episode (HGTV is highly recommended)!
3) Search for motivation
YouTube the Victoria's Secret Fashion show and you'll have 50 minutes of free motivation. Striving for a body like Candice Swanepoel? Peddle faster!
4) Phone-A-Friend
Recommended for the beginning of your workout, while you're warming up. It may be difficult to keep your breath, but there's nothing like bragging - "hey I'm at the gym Huff-Huff, what's going on in your life? huff-huff." Hopefully your girlfriend will have some juicy drama and talk your ear off while you simply listen and bike! *Side Note- Don't be loud and obnoxious on your phone, other people are trying to workout too - and I doubt they want to listen to your story about Sally kissing Johnny. Also only do this if you've got bluetooth headphones or earplugs.
5) Magazines
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of this, but I do see other women at the gym flipping through magazines. I doubt they're intensely reading the articles, but the pictures are pretty.
6) Challenge yourself
Create timed intervals for yourself. Peddle above 70 RPM for ten minutes, and then do 100 RPM for 30 seconds. Or every time you hear a bass drop in the music, pick your booty up and go hard!
